Terms of Service
Last updated 6 August 2026
These terms apply when you book totes, dollies or related equipment from KY Tote Co. Booking means you accept them. If something here does not work for your situation, contact us at [email protected] or (859) 555-0100 before you book and we will tell you what we can do.
What you are renting
You are renting equipment, not buying it. The totes, lids and dollies stay our property for the whole rental and come back to us at the end of it.
Each package lists how many totes and dollies it includes and how long the rental runs. We deliver clean, ready to use equipment. If anything arrives damaged or dirty, tell us the same day and we will replace it.
Booking and payment
Payment is taken when you book, not on delivery. That is what reserves the equipment for your dates: an unpaid booking is not a reservation, and during busy weeks the difference decides who gets totes.
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Prices shown at checkout are what you pay. Delivery and pickup are included everywhere we serve.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancel more than 48 hours before your delivery date and we refund you in full.
Inside 48 hours the equipment is already assigned to your route, so we handle those case by case. Contact us and we will work it out with you rather than apply a blanket rule.
If we cancel, for weather, a vehicle problem, or anything else on our side, you get a full refund regardless of timing.
Delivery and pickup
We deliver and collect within our service area: Lexington, Fayette County, Georgetown, Nicholasville, Versailles, Frankfort. Addresses outside it may still be possible, but not at the free delivery price. Ask us for a quote.
Someone does not have to be home. If nobody will be there, leave delivery notes when you book telling us where to put the equipment, and understand that anything left outside is left at your risk.
If you are moving, you can give us a different address for pickup than for delivery when you book. Tell us before your pickup date if that address changes.
If we cannot reach the equipment on the scheduled pickup day, because of a locked gate, a missed arrangement, or the totes not being where we were told, we may charge for the extra trip.
Looking after the equipment
Use the totes for household and office goods. Do not use them for anything hazardous, flammable, perishable, or biologically contaminated, and do not use them to move animals.
Do not overload them. They are strong, but a tote packed past the point where one person can lift it safely is likely to be damaged and likely to hurt somebody.
Return them empty and reasonably clean. Normal dirt from a move is expected and we handle it. Paint, oil, pet waste and similar are not.
Do not write on, drill, cut, or apply anything to the equipment that will not come off cleanly.
Damage, loss and late returns
You are responsible for the equipment from delivery until we collect it, including against theft.
If equipment is damaged beyond normal wear, lost, or not returned, we will charge the current replacement cost. We will tell you the amount before charging it, not after.
If you keep the equipment past your end date without extending, we may charge the extension rate shown for your package for the additional time.
You can extend at any point before your totes are due back. Contact us and we will confirm the new dates and rate.
What we are not responsible for
We rent containers. We do not pack them, load them, or transport your belongings, and we are not responsible for what you put inside them or for what happens to it.
Pack valuables, documents and irreplaceable items yourself and keep them with you. Do not put them in rented equipment.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your rental is the one published when you booked, so a later change does not alter a booking you have already made.
